    Xiaomi, Samsung, and other phone makers poised to resume manufacturing in India


    In March, when India announced its first lockdown to curb the coronavirus spread, major smartphone makers such as Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, and Vivo had to shut down factories. Now, as the country’s government is slowly lifting restrictions, these companies are set to resume their production. In a statement, Samsung, which has the world’s biggest smartphone plant in India, said that it has restarted production in a limited capacity: We have received requisite permissions to restart production at our Noida factory.
