    EU might fine Facebook $1.63B for latest data breach


    Facebook’s data breach from last week – which impacted more than 50 million users – might cost the company a pretty penny. If the European Union’s (EU) watchdog finds that the company violated privacy laws, it could face a massive fine of $1.63 billion. Under GDPR laws, if the EU concludes that the company didn’t do enough to safeguard its users’ data, it can face a fine up to 4% of its global revenue. The Data Protection Commission of Ireland – the privacy regulator the data breach – said that the attack impacted less than five million EU-based users. UPDATE Facebook…
